Being a parent is the hardest and the most rewarding thing I have ever done, and that’s why I put it first.
I have two great children, who are now grown and on to their own lives. Thank God! I know the pressure you are under as a parent, trying to make ends meet, juggling your job, and your family’s needs. Sometimes that includes being a caregiver to an aging parent. Government should not make life harder by inducing an unstable economy, causing higher prices and threatening your retirement savings. Government should understand and support families. I will put families first, and concentrate on common sense, pocketbook issues.

As a child, we always took beach vacations, camping and fishing trips in the forests. I revered the environment. That is probably why I became an environmental lawyer. Fortunately, New Jersey’s beauty still exists in its farms and forests, its lakes and rivers, and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as its unspoiled groundwater used for drinking. I’ve spent my entire career working to clean up our land and water. We’ve made a lot of progress but have to be ever vigilant. Please trust me to be your representative.

Spring Lake Heights is my retirement home, but I’ve been coming to the shore since I was born. In fact, my father built a house on a bluff overlooking the Pennsylvania RR (which became the NJT Coast Line) and I used to wave to the engineers as they steamed by. Later, I married a fellow named Ed Lloyd, who was the grandson of one of those engineers, also named Ed Lloyd. He used to park his train at Bay Head and go home for supper on Osborne Ave. The reason I live in Spring Lake Heights now is because of what Superstorm Sandy did to our house in Manasquan. We need to protect our shoreline from climate change.
I’ve been advocating for the changes we need to make on climate change since 1988.
